About peopleWear SF

Vision and Strategy

San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California sewn products designers, manufacturers, retailers, educators, and related service providers have joined under the peopleWear SF banner of professional collaboration and innovation.

The future is stitched with volunteerism and commitment, and is animated by the historic strength of the local industry and its singular sensibility and values.

peopleWear SF and its partners are blazing new paths to profitability. Our leadership and membership share a commitment to:

Improving local systems of all sorts, and connecting professionals to one another . . . online and on the ground.

Advancing applied technology, sustainable design and production methods, and other innovative approaches to industry and community change.

Contributing a new chapter to our local industry's history of blending competitive business practices with a distinct vision for a better world.

Advocating for business-friendly policies, inter-industry cooperation, and the training of our industry's next generation.

The future is so close, you can almost touch it.

Individual fashion and apparel industry visionaries and collective changemakers alike are contributing to a new industry, world, and local community.

You, too?

At peopleWear SF, the conversation includes community-building within the industry and in the places where our businesses operate . . . sustainable practices such as sourcing and distribution of recyclable and reusable materials . . . applied technologies such as on-demand printing of fabric, closed-loop production and dry dyeing processes . . . transforming traditional sourcing and sales approaches in favor of collaborative materials purchases and online fashion and trade shows . . . modeling values-based business practices from fair labor to cause-related marketing and localized design and production . . .

We believe that, together, we can showcase what is best about traditional and innovative industry practices right here in our own backyard.

When it comes to flagging a new path that leads to successful business and living . . . is there an industry better suited than the fashion design and manufacturing industry? When it comes to stitching those flags with individualism and creativity, openness to new ideas, concern for people and the environment . . . is there a region more up to the task than the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California?

Thank you for being a part of a vibrant industry in a fertile place . . . for shaping the future . . . and for joining us at peopleWear SF.
