Copper-based brazing metals

  • Copper-phosphorus filler metals are based on the Cu-P binary alloy, and mainly used for brazing of copper and its alloys. They are widely applied in the refrigeration equipment such as air conditioners, fridges etc and electric industry, because they can replace the silver base filler metals to braze copper and its alloys in many occasions, and get brazed joints with high strength. Such filler metals are suitable for gas brazing, high frequency brazing and furnace brazing with good processing property, and can braze red copper without fluxes.

    Copper-phosphorus-silver filler metals have similar application range and brazing process with copper-phosphorus filler metals, by adding silver element on the basis of Cu-P binary alloy. The silver can not only reduce melting temperature of filler metals, optimize processing property, but also improve tensile strength of filler metals and plasticity of brazed joints. This kind of filler metals has good electrical conductivity, satisfactory wettability and clearance fillability.

    Bronze filler metals are prepared by adding phosphorus and small amounts of functional elements in the Cu-Sn binary alloy, and can be used for brazing of carbon steel and carbon steel, stainless steel and stainless steel, carbon steel and stainless steel, carbon steel and copper and stainless steel and copper. Brazed joints obtained have good air tightness, high strength and good plasticity. Such filler metals are suitable for furnace brazing, gas brazing and high frequency brazing.
